Henderson Canada is proud to actively participate in and give back to the communities in which we develop projects. Henderson supports a wide variety of community level organizations and includes community amenities as part of its developments.
The International Village master-planned community includes the ten acre Andy Livingston Park, a child daycare facility and an elementary school. As part of an agreement with the City of Vancouver, Henderson Canada has provided a parcel of land at the corner of Pender and Abbott Street to be developed for non-market housing.
The Keefer Steps and Keefer Circle provide convenient access to the Stadium Skytrain station and form part of the Silk Road, which connects Chinatown with downtown Vancouver. Henderson Canada is also a major donor in the construction of the Vancouver Public Library.
Henderson Canada also directly supports community-based organizations that have strong presence in the neighbourhoods. The Vancouver Police Department’s Odd Squad Productions, which educates the public about issues facing the community, and SUCCESS, one of British Columbia’s largest immigrant and social service agencies, are examples of such organizations.
In addition to Odd Squad and SUCCESS, Henderson Canada is pleased to support:
• BC Children’s Hospital
• Make-A-Wish Foundation
• Canuck Place Children’s Hospice
• China Town Merchant Association
• Canadian Cancer Foundation
• Vancouver General Hospital
• Annual scholarship for SFU student |
